FFA Members Eligible for Monty’s Plant Food Company Scholarships

ffa_logo_99x126Monty’s Plant Food Company, a Louisville, Kentucky-based manufacturer of plant and soil enhancement products for the agriculture, industry, is now accepting applications for five, $1,000 college scholarships. The awards will be made in conjunction with the National FFA Organization to high school seniors who are members of FFA.

To be eligible students must also meet criteria including:

  • Be a resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee or Virginia
  • Live on a family farm
  • Plan to pursue post-secondary education and study agronomy and crop science, sustainable agriculture, soil science or soil conservation
  • Have a minimum high school GPA of 3.25
  • Have participated in community service

Scholarship applications are available online at www.ffa.org/scholarships. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2016. The Monty’s Plant Food Company scholarships will be awarded in May, 2016.

Each year, the National FFA Organization awards approximately $2 million in scholarships sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation. Scholarships are awarded for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans. Students can complete one application to be considered for all scholarships offered through the National FFA Organization.
