Are essential micronutrients the “missing pieces” of your starter program?

Monty’s Microhance® is the natural, economical solution for strengthening your crop at planting

Better ROI from your crops starts on planting day with Microhance, the formula that delivers the six key nutrients — Nitrogen, Sulfur, Boron, Iron, Manganese, and Zinc — that spell successful yield: for less than $4 per acre.

Ryan Lee, a farmer and Monty’s sales representative, tells the story. “We’ve traditionally used Microhance as a foliar spray, with tremendous success. But last year, Dr. Ron Heiniger at North Carolina State University did an in-furrow corn trial with Microhance at 32 ounce per acre, and saw an increase of 11 bushel over check. So now we’re incorporating Microhance with our starter program.

“A lot of starters are just an N-P-K package with no micronutrients; or maybe just a little zinc, iron, or sulfur. But Microhance has more  … the micronutrients plants really need, including boron and sulfur. Basically, Microhance is more bang for your starter buck.”

Joe Dedman, Monty’s Vice President of Agronomy, says its micronutrients aren’t the only reason Microhance is unlike any other micronutrient package on the market today, “Microhance strengthens a plant’s metabolism. Using it provides a readily available, EDTA chelated food source to help plants weather times of stress — which is when plants develop nutrient deficiencies.”

Highly adaptive, preventative, and less than $4 per acre per use.

Whether it’s applied in-furrow, as a foliar spray, in irrigation, or through a drip-line, Dedman says, “Microhance is extremely user-friendly. Any time during the season you can tank-mix it with herbicides, insecticides, fungicides … and you don’t have to put on much … You’re only talking 1 -2 quarts per acre per use; two to three times a season.”

Lee concludes, “… just like our Liquid Carbon™, you can add Microhance to most anything, even other starters. It’s cheap, it’s safe in-furrow, it’s low-salt, noncorrosive on your equipment, it’s easy to apply, and it’s adaptive to changing environment.

“Microhance costs less than $4 per acre to apply – you’re talking about one bushel of corn. You spend less than $4, you get 10 bushels more per acre, and you bring in an extra $40. That’s simple math – you’re clearing $36 an acre. Even if you halve the yield, you’re still making $16 an acre. That just makes sense. … Yeah, and dollars.”

“Your start is the most important part of the season … 70% of your yield can be determined when you plant it. If you get a good start; if you give that plant a shot of micronutrients in the beginning, you’re going to get a better yield.”
