Amin Nouri earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Soil Science from the University of Tennessee in December 2017. His dissertation, “Long-Term Impacts of Tillage and Cropping Managements on Soil Hydro-Physical Properties and Yield,” is the culmination of a multi-year study of the hydro-physical properties of soil in various long-term management practices including tillage, no-till, cover crops, and fallow states. By associating soil hydro-physical functions and crop productivity with soil management strategies, Amin’sPh.D. work has helped to develop and identify regenerative agricultural practices with the greatest soil health, crop yield, as well as long-term yield stability benefits for corn, cotton, and soybean.
